Installation problem - by: eddie girvan

I have installed Joomla 3.6.2 and PHP 5.6. When I try to install the template through extension manager I get the following error: Warning
JInstaller: :Install: Can't find Joomla XML setup file.
The Joomla package cannot be installed through the Extension Manager. Please use the Joomla! Update component to update Joomla

Any suggestions?
