Sort Properties by not working - by: dig814

I am trying to change the order of the properties list. In the menu options, I see Sort properties by and Order properties by

Order properties by is desc or asc and this works fine, but Sort properties by has no effect. Is this a bug? Any idea on how to fix?

Details: Joomla3.4.5 - OS Property 2.7.1 - PHP 5.4.41

I think they are reluctant to upgrade to latest OS Property because their previous developer made many customization to the extension.
